A Tribute to the Gallantry of the Filipino Soldier

Wars are fought with weapons but they are won by men. Men like the 7 Filipino soldiers recently mutilated by the Abu Sayyaf in Mindanao.

If the Abu Sayyaf thinks they won a victory here they are mistaken. For with the passing of these brave soldiers rises a new spirit and resolve among the Filipino citizenry and armed forces. Resolve to hunt down these bandits and bring their existence to an end.

I am so taken by the valor and gallantry of these 7 men that at this point even I myself am thinking of resigning my job and activating myself as part of the reserve command. These seven soldiers of the Filipino people are truly heroes in their own right.

Salamat po sa inyong katapatan, katapangan, at sakripisyo. Mabuhay po kayo ang aming mga Kawal Pilipino.
